Rank Pay caught our eye early on because their site currently claims the number one Google search result for “SEO Services.” This speaks volumes about their ability to perform SEO. If a company cannot even take care of business when it comes to their own site how in the world could they ever do it for you? We wanted to know more about this company so we actually tried them out. We gave them a test site to baby and we dug to try and find out exactly what they were doing.
We like several things about Rank Pay. First, they offer a tool directly on their site that gives you a cost estimate for ranking your site for certain keywords. Second, we like that they bill you only if they rank you within the first three pages and if there is an increase in your rankings. One thing that concerns us however is that there is no time estimate for how long you will be paying them to rank your site in the top three. We just want to know how long they expect to get paid before your site reaches where it needs to be.
The Bottom Line: Rank Pay seems like a company with potential. There are several positive aspects of their process. On the contrast there were also some things that worried us. In all our investigation of the service we were not able to find references (which is a must for us), and we were unable to obtain a serious time estimate for results.
11/22/2010 UPDATE:
Several weeks ago we gave Rank Pay a site to do SEO for just to see how capable they were. We expected high things out of the site claiming the number one Google search result for “SEO Services.” Unfortunately they have not surprised us as much as we had hoped.
The site we gave them has an excellent domain, dietpillsideeffects.org, and they keywords we asked them to go after were “diet pill side effects” and “side effects of diet pills.” Last week we noticed a slight increase in search rankings, but this week the site is sitting more than a page lower for each keyword than where it originally started!

We are giving Rank Pay two more weeks at most to produce some extremely positive results or we are cutting our losses and pulling the plug.
12/09/2010 UPDATE:
Rank Pay has failed to deliver! It has been nearly two months and Rank Pay is still dropping the ball on our site. We are starting to think they paid another company to do even the SEO for their own website. Before beginning with Rank Pay we had high hopes from the company claiming the number on Google search result for “SEO services” but were sadly disappointed.
The Breakdown of Our Beef With Rank Pay:
We gave them a premium domain, not some crappy ten dollar piece of crap that had nothing to do with the keywords we wanted to rank for. We understood as well as any SEO pro that movement through SERPs takes time. We desperately wanted them to impress us. What was the end result?
1. They failed to get us indexed in Google.
2. They misrepresented predictions for our site.
3. They let us drop in Yahoo and Bing.
Our Recommendation: Find someone else to do your SEO.
