A service desk would be for any type of issue that is "not a problem or negative". These would be things such as adding a new domain to your web-hosting package or placing a bulk order from a shoe store larger than the norm. These would go through a service desk.

A help desk would be to handle the unforeseen, or problems that can arise. This could be not being able to configure your new domain in a web-host, or the order got lost in shipment or was sent with the wrong size of shoes.
